I will be out helping with the K-orientation at the new Gibb's Elementary School opening in Germantown next year. I will post the agenda for the next two days below so you can get a glimps of what the week looks like. I promise to be back for good starting Thursday. I know it has been tough on the kids and I miss them a bunch as well. Hopefully after this there will be no more interruptions to the schedule.

9:00 – 9:20 – Breakfast, order lunch, and take attendance. Students should come in unpack and begin working on their morning work while eating their breakfast.
9:20 – 9:30 – Mrs. Curtis will go over the calendar with students. If she doesn’t show you will need to do this.
9:30 – 10: 15 Guided Reading 3 (15 minute) rotations You will need to grab the box with their ziplock bags after they come in and unpack their backpacks. Jacob can help you with this.

Mrs. Lasky will come in and finish our story. Students are working on copying the story we wrote together. If they finish early they may illustrate a part of the story.
We will read a new why tale and then create how the bunny looked before the story and after the story. If there is extra time reread the scholastic news from yesterday.
11:10 – 11:50 – Art – Remember your coats if it is outdoor recess.
11:50 – 12:50 – Lunch and Recess
12:50 – 1:10 – Have students come in and take a bathroom break. Go over morning work with the two different groups at the back table (Group 1 – timani, taon, alexus, wilmer, priscila) Group 2 – everyone else.
1:10 –Switch for math
1:10 – 1:30 – Students should complete the beginning work for Tuesday.
1:30 – 2:15 Guided Reading – While students are not meeting with Mrs. Del Balzo they should be working at their two other stations language and finish work/independent reading. All students will bring their books in a ziplock bag from home.

2:15 – 2:40 – Whole Group Reading – read the why tale about the rabbit to students. Have students complete the activity making the bunny before and after the story to show the element of change.
2:40 – 3:10 – Writing
Have students try to write their own why tales using the graphic organizer I left. Collect all materials. Make sure students take home their spelling journal and zip lock bags.
3:10 – Switch back for dismissal. Please make sure the morning class has their zip-locks, spelling journals and folders when they go home.

12:50 – 1:10 – Have students come in and copy down their homework for the evening in their planners. Then pull groups back to go over their morning work. just as you did yesterday with the two different groups.

Complete the two assignment pages together or independently what ever you think they can handle. You could also do this in a small group while others color pictures of butterflies you choose.
