9:00 – 9:20 – Breakfast, order lunch, and take attendance. Students should come in unpack and begin working on their morning work while eating their breakfast.

9:20 – 9:30 – Mrs. Curtis will go over the calendar with students.

9:30 – 10: 15 Guided Reading 3 (15 minute) rotations

10:15 – 11:50 Whole Group Reading and Writing Time –

We will complete the text feature piece from yesterday and reread the rainforest article. We will identify three text features and shared what we learned.

We will finish our story about how the butterfly got its wings and illustrate the story.

We will go over our dol packets and take our quiz for the week.


11:50 – 12:50 – Lunch and Recess

12:50 – 1:00 – We will make sure we have completed our morning activities and we will practice our folktale speeches.

1:00 –Switch for math







1:00 – 1:40 – Students should complete the beginning work for Friday and take our dol quiz. We will also identify a bold print word in our article and determine the meaning of the word. Anyone that finishes early may work on their stories from yesterday.

1:40 – 2:40 – Butterfly release party

Students will share their stories they have written about how the butterfly go its wings.

Students will review their knowledge of butterflies in groups by creating a poster.

Students will release their butterflies outside and take part in a special treat from Ms. Sheinin.

2:40 – 3:15 – Students will pack up and return to Mrs. Del Balzo’s room for stories related to butterflies.


3:15 – 3:30- Dismissal
