Folktale Day!

Thanks to all parents that helped out with costumes at home. They look great! Please feel free to join us Thursday from 9:45 - 10:45 for our Folktale Day celebration. Our agenda is short tomorrow due to the activities!

Agenda Thursday May 28, 2009

9:00 – 9:20 – Breakfast, order lunch, and take attendance. Students should come in unpack and begin working on their morning work while eating their breakfast.

9:20 – 9:30 – Mrs. Curtis will go over the calendar and morning message with students.

9:30 – 10: 45 Folktale Day
Students will go down to the All-Purpose Room and deliver the speeches to younger classmates and parents. Please be ready with your costume and speech by 9:30 so that we are on time.


10:45- 11:10 – Folktale Celebration
Students will return to class for a special celebration of folktales. Mrs. Del Balzo will supply a special treat for all to enjoy and a special story.


11:10 – 12:50 –Physical Education / Lunch and Recess

12:50 – 1:10 – We will go over our morning work in small groups and write down our homework for the evening.

1:10 –Switch for math


















1:10 – 1:30 – We will complete our beginning work on grammar and write down our homework for the evening.

1:30 – 2:15 – Guided Reading Groups

Review our word wall words with a fill in the blank activity. We will reread our new story and begin to discuss the travel that Miss Rumphius went on. Continue working on folktales we are writing and practicing our speeches Language – prefixes and suffixes

2:15 – 3:10 – We will finish our comprehension questions about the Statue of Liberty and continue publishing our folktales.
