Tomorrow is Raven Testing for the GT data we are gathering. Please have your students here on time and ready to learn!:-) This is a picture analysis test so there is no reading or computation. It is more like looking at puzzles. All responses are multiple choice and it takes about an hour. If you have any additional questions I would be happy to answer them for you!

9:20 – 9:30 – Mrs. Del Balzo will go over our agenda and the word of the month. We will read a letter from Mrs. Del Balzo and fix mistakes!
9:30 – 10:30 – Raven Testing!
All students will take part in the GT Raven testing!
10:30 – 10:40 – Whole Group Reading
We will discuss antonyms and how they are words that are opposites. We will insert words into the correct sentences using a word box.
10:40 – 11:10- Language/Writing
We will review our senses organizer from yesterday and begin our persuasive organizer for our letter. Tomorrow we will write our letters.
11:10- 12:50 – P.E./Lunch/ Recess
12:50 – 1:10- Students will go over their morning work sentences in small groups, write down their homework, and read independently.
PM Class 1:10 – 3:10
1:10 – 1:30 – Students will come in and go over their language packets and write down their homework in their planners.
1:30 – 2:15 –Guided Reading – Each group is a 15 minute rotation.
All students will complete a fill in the blank sheet for new word wall words!
Rotations: While students are not meeting with Mrs. Del Balzo they are completing language activities or reading/writing independently.
Group 1 1:30 – 1:45– We will review our story and beging writing our BCR response using the cookie strategy.
Group 2 –1:45 – 2:00 - We will review our story and begin writing our BCR response using the cookie strategy.
Group 3 – 2:00 – 2:15 - We will write the characteristics of a tall tale and what was exaggerated in the text. We will also begin our BCR response using our smart cookie strategy.
2:15 – 2:40 – Whole Group Reading
We will review synonyms and antonyms during whole group reading. We will focus on analogies and how can use our knowledge of synonyms and antonyms to find the correct answer.
2:40 – 3:15 – Writing
We will review our senses organizer and begin writing our persuasive letter. Make sure to elaborate on your reasons!!
