9:20 – 9:30 – Mrs. Del Balzo will go over our agenda and the word of the month. We will read a letter from Mrs. Del Balzo and fix mistakes!
9:30 – 10:15 – Guided Reading
Group 1 – We will reread our information about George Washington and we will begin making our posters while Mrs. Del Balzo works one on one for a text feature quiz.
Group 2 – We will finish our vocabulary for soil and crops. We will start a BCR for our book on George Washington Carver. We will describe a character trait about him.
Group 3 – We will practice our sight words and label pictures of different insects in the garden.
10:15 – 10:40 – Whole Group Reading
We will read a scholastic news about Barack Obama. We will use our CUCC strategy to highlight important words before we start answering our questions.
10:40 – 10:55- Language:
We will go over our morning work and write down our homework for the evening!
10:55-11:35 – Physical Education
11:35 – 11:50 - Writing
Mrs. Del Balzo will finish modeling how to complete the final assessment. We will put published work into our portfolios and finish publishing any final letters.
11:50 – 12:50 – Lunch/ Recess
12:50 – 1:10- Students will continue to work on final writing pieces or begin their final assessment. At 1:10 put book boxes away and line up at the door with home folders and pencil boxes. Go to Ms. Sheinin’s class for math.
PM Class 1:10 – 3:10
1:10 – 1:30 – Students will come in and go over their language packets. Students should hand these in when completed.
1:30 – 2:15 –Guided Reading – Each group is a 15 minute rotation.
All groups will complete a short word work activity putting words into ABC order.
Rotations: While students are not meeting with Mrs. Del Balzo they are completing language activities or reading/writing independently. Students should meet with you at the back table.
Group 1 1:30 – 1:45– We will begin creating our posters after we finish gathering information.
Group 2 –1:45 – 2:00 -We will begin our posters after we finish determining important information we want to include.
Group 3 – 2:00 – 2:15 - We will go over important information and begin our posters.
*While students are working on posters Mrs. Del Balzo will be giving text feature assessment individually.
2:15 – 2:35 – Whole Group Reading
We will finish our assignments on determining important information about Barack Obama.
2:35 – 3:15 – Writing
We will begin our final writing assessment. Use strong reasons, opinion statements, and vocabulary!
