9:20 – 9:30 – Ms. Curtis will go over our agenda and the word of the month. We will read a letter from Mrs. Del Balzo and fix mistakes!
9:30 – 10:15 – Guided Reading
Group 1 – Students will complete a handwriting sheet for their word wall words. Students will take a picture walk of their text and find text features in the book. Students will select a chapter they would like to read.
Group 2 – Students will complete a handwriting sheet for their word wall words. Students will begin reading, The Clever Penguins and discuss how the mother and father penguins work together.
Group 3 – Student will practice her words by completing a handwriting sheet. Student will reread her book and discuss the questions, “What is the problem in the story? How is it solved?”
10:15 – 10:40 – Whole Group Reading
We will practice a new technique for main idea, “Stand Up Line Up.” We will listen to a chapter about animal senses. At the end if a student learned a new fact they are going to state it and stand in line. As each new person is added we will repeat the facts from before until we have a chain. We will then use our facts to determine the main idea and write a summary! Wow!
10:40 – 11:10- Writing
We will select a topic from our list yesterday to write about. We will then split into groups to finish our letters and begin getting our ideas down for our next writing selection to Ms. Deitz.
11:10 -12:50 – Music/Lunch/Recess
12:50 – 1:10- Students will read independently while Mrs. Del Balzo works in small groups to go over language sentences. We will then switch for math.
PM Class 1:10 – 3:10
1:10 – 1:30 – Students will come in and go over their language packets. Students should hand these in when completed.
1:30 – 2:15 –Guided Reading
Group 1 – We will finish reading our text and discuss two BCRs on characters and they changed over time.
Group 2 – We will finish reading the book and discuss how Gregory’s feelings changed throughout the beginning, middle, and end of the story.
Group 3 – We will finish reading our text and discuss two BCRs on characters and they changed over time.
2:15- 2:40 Whole Group Reading
