Well we are trying to keep things as normal as possible as the year comes to a close, but with the holidays I think we can all agree no schedule stays normal:-) We have been working hard on our animal reports in both classes but with the interruptions and shows this week (all holiday related) we are not going to finish in the PM class. Best laid plans always need to be altered. Here is what we are working on to finish out the week.
As a tradition we always have Polar Express Day where students listen to the story and then work on reading comprehension as a follow up. In the afternoon we will watch the video as a treat before the break. Some students will attending the Bull Dog Bash tomorrow. These students saved 50 bones and had no behavior or homework issues during the first part of the quarter. They will be going to different activities from 10 -11 in the morning and then in the afternoon they will attend a performance by a high school step team. Pretty exciting. They have worked hard for this reward so I hope they enjoy it. In between Polar Express activities and the Bash we will have guided reading and take a pretest for our short e words. Anyone who gets an O will not have to do homework or take the test next week.
As we wind down for the year let me tell you what a privilege it is to come and teach your children everyday. It may not go always as planned but we do learn a lot and have a lot of fun! As a teacher no two days are ever the same and for that I am grateful. How boring our world would be without children. Please hug and hold yours tight! I know I am so excited to share my first holiday with my son Austin. I am very blessed to have such a wonderful son. Again, have a great holiday season!
Hugs,
Mrs. Del Balzo
