Here is our outline for the week. As you know things do not always go as planned so be prepared for some things to get shifted or moved based on the needs of students.

Writing -
Monday - Discuss careers, preview books on careers with a buddy, model how to complete the graphic organizer
Tuesday - Students complete graphic organizer independently, with a buddy, or with a teacher depending on the need. I will model writing the first draft.
Wednesday - Review modeled writing of first draft, students continue writing first drafts if they finish early they will write in their personal writing journals.
Thursday - No School!
Friday - Model how to do a peer review. Students finish drafts and begin peer reviews, teacher conferences, and final pieces depending on their progress.

Reading -
We are continuing with reading for information!
Monday - Whole group lesson on graphic aids ( tables, charts, graphs, maps)
Tuesday - Partner work - identify the text feature on the page the teacher sticky noted and explain what information the text feature gives the reader.
Wednesday - Begin work with author's purpose and main idea. I will model how to complete a graphic organizer for main idea.
Thursday - No School
Friday - Students work with a partner to complete a graphic organizer on main idea.

Spelling -
Monday - Review our sort from last week and review the poem from last week.
Tuesday - Students complete a word sort.
Wednesday - Students complete a practice spelling test.
Thursday - No School
Friday - Students take spelling test during reading groups.
