December

I can't believe we are just 2 weeks away from Winter Break! Just to let parents know once we come back on January 3rd we start into a new testing window. Students in grades 3-5 will have their MAP-R reading assessment window open the day we return. Teachers are signing up now for their computer lab times so their students can be assessed. Our winter testing is one of our best data points so we are excited to see how the students have grown so far this year. On January 9th our K-2 students have their assessment window open for MCPS-AP-PR. This is the assessment where students are tested individually on their reading level and teachers use their palm pilots to collect the information. Both assessments are reported to the county so that we are held accountable for student proformance.

Parents please know I am happy to speak with you at anytime about these assessments and would be more than happy to help you navigate the information.

During the month of December we are celebrating many different holidays. I hope that you enjoy your time with family and friends as we get ready to begin another calendar year!
