Time Flies!

I can't believe it has been so long since my last post. Time is really flying! Just a few reminders as October comes to an end.

Oct. 30th - End of the Quarter
Nov. 9th - All 3rd grade Highly Gifted Center Applications are due


GT Information:
Please let me know if you have any questions about the Highly Gifted Center program or the application process. I am the GT Liaison for Gibbs so I will organizing the student files that are going to be sent in for the application process. I encourage you to attend the parent night at Quince Orchard High School if you are interested in putting in an application. Again this is only for 3rd graders as the centers do not begin until grade 4. Our cluster program is located at Clearspring and students can be picked up at Gibbs for transportation to the center.

Reading Odds and Ends:
As the quarter comes to a close please be in contact with your child's reading teacher about their progress. As we all know the first quarter is usually getting back into the rhyme of school and sometimes trying to make up for a little lost ground over the summer. Don't be surprised if your child is a few reading levels lower than they were at the end of last year. Most likely they will make that ground up with excellent support from teachers and para educators. If you do have questions about your child's progress please ask. We are here to provide you with any information you need about the reading program and your child's progress here at Gibbs. Not only are our teachers here for you but so am I. Anytime you have a question or concern please feel free to contact me. We can all work together to create the best learning environment for your child. It takes a village!
