Sorry, it's been so busy with finishing up Map-R and m-class testing I haven't had time to post:-) That being said we are almost done with our fall testing window and teachers now have current data on all of our students in reading in order to make the best plan for each child in their classrooms. Now it is time for us to analyze the data in order make sure we know what students need more instruction on and where we can challenge them. I get very excited when we get to this part because it creates teaching with purpose. Years and years ago teachers were given a book and taught cover to cover no matter what student they were working with. Now we collect information analyze it find out where the gaps are in learning and put the puzzle pieces together! This way students stay engaged and like learning because it is tailored to them. Now that's not to say we don't miss somethings now and again, but now teachers reflect on what worked and what didn't to adjust their lessons and plans to meet the needs of all students. This was just my soap box for today:-) Can you tell I get excited about it!
