Wednesday's Agenda

Please continue to work on those TN2 packets for our assessment in April. They are due next Friday!!! I look forward to giving out lots of awards, golden bones, and high fives to those that completed them. Remember you will also get your name on the morning announcements!

March 25, 2009
9:20 – 9:30 – Mrs. Del Balzo will go over our agenda and the word of the month. We will read a letter from Mrs. Del Balzo and fix mistakes!

9:30 – 10:15 – Guided Reading
Group 1 – We will reread our story working finish taking notes on how the main character felt at the beginning, middle, and end of the story.
Group 2 – We will reread the story to practice fluency and begin writing down what the problem and solution was in the story. We are going to focus on how the characters solved the problem.
Group 3 – We will practice our sight words and reread our new book practicing the strategy of using the picture clues to help us solve words.

10:15 – 10:40 – Whole Group Reading
We will read about different leaders and match the correct leader to the job! We will read about different occupations and write down what we think it takes to become an effective leader.

10:40 – 10:55- Language:
We will go over our morning work and write down our homework for the evening!

10:55 – 11:35 – Music

11:35 – 11:50 - Writing
Students will continue our final writing assessment. Students may edit their drafts or finish publishing final pieces.

11:50 – 12:50 – Lunch/ Recess

12:50 – 1:00- Students will continue to work on final writing pieces. At 1:10 put book boxes away and line up at the door with home folders and pencil boxes. Go to Ms. Sheinin’s class for math.




PM Class 1:10 – 3:10

1:10 – 1:30 – Students will come in and go over their language packets and write down their homework in their planners. Students should hand these in when completed.

1:30 – 2:15 –Guided Reading – Each group is a 15 minute rotation.
All groups will complete a short word work activity putting words into ABC order.
Rotations: While students are not meeting with Mrs. Del Balzo they are completing language activities or reading/writing independently.

Group 1 1:30 – 1:45– We will discuss vocabulary and how it helps us increase our understanding of the text. We will find a challenging vocabulary word in the text and use the glossary and paragraph to determine the meaning. We will then use the word in a sentence that we create our selves!
Group 2 –1:45 – 2:00 - We will discuss vocabulary and how it helps us increase our understanding of the text. We will find a challenging vocabulary word in the text and use the glossary and paragraph to determine the meaning. We will then use the word in a sentence that we create our selves!
Group 3 – 2:00 – 2:15 - We will discuss vocabulary and how it helps us increase our understanding of the text. We will find a challenging vocabulary word in the text and use the glossary and paragraph to determine the meaning. We will then use the word in a sentence that we create our selves!

*While students are working on posters Mrs. Del Balzo will be continuing text feature assessments individually.
