9:20 – 9:30 – We will go over our morning message and correct mistakes using our knowledge of a friendly letter and correct grammar.
9:30 – 10:15 – Guided
Group 1 – We will answer a bcr on the problem and solution in the story.
Group 2 – We will answer a bcr on how the character changed from the beginning to the end of the story.
Group 3- We will write a poem about playing with a teddy bear.
10:15 – 10:30 –Whole Group
We will read Sootface, an Native American version of Cinderella and complete our grid with the elements of a folktale. We will compare the two through discussion.
10:30 -11:00- Guidance Lesson
11:00-11:50 – Writing/Grammar
We will begin our third writing piece about pollution. We will use a web to organize our ideas. We will complete a grammar quiz to show our knowledge of sentence structure.
11:50 – 12:50 –Lunch/Recess
12:50 – 1:00- Language
We will review our spelling exploration for the week.
1:10 Switch for
Afternoon Class
1:00 – 1:30 - Language
We will review our DOL sentences from morning work. We will be sure to include all the parts of a sentence and focus on word choice! We will complete a grammar quiz to show our knowledge of sentence structure.
1:30 – 2:15 – Guided
*All groups will review word wall words for the week!
Group 1 – We will share our answers to the shared inquiry discussion question and reflect on ideas that were shared after discussion.
Group 2- We will continue writing our BCR responses about character traits for Anna and Grandpa!
Group 3 - We will share our answers to the shared inquiry discussion question and reflect on ideas that were shared after discussion.
2:15 – 2:40 – Whole Group
We will read the Korean Cinderella in small groups and complete the chart with partners. We will orally discuss similarities and differences in the story.
2:40 – 3:15 – Writing
Writing/Grammar
We will continue to publish our writing and begin our new piece to the president. Be sure to use your web to organize your ideas.
