Happy Tuesday!

Hello all! I hope your week is going well. Here are some things we covered today just to keep you updated:-)

Reading-
Today we read a short article on voting and students selected the main idea of the article using a multiple choice strategy. We also met in guided reading groups and worked on sight words, initial sounds and vocabulary. Your child is being instructed on their own reading level in these groups. In the guided group time students are working at different rotations or meeting with me for instruction. We are so lucky to also have Ms. Warno and Ms. Fetterman working with groups at this time as well so some students are getting a double does of reading groups. Just what the "Reading Doctor" ordered:-)

Writing- Students are continuing to work on writing for personal expression. In the morning class we are working writing about our favorite birthday. Today we finished our webs and color coded our ideas for the beginning, middle, and end. In the afternoon class students are working on practicing for their writing assessment and are on day 2. This is when they get no help from me and we are able to see what they can do on their own:-) How exciting.

Spelling- Keep studying those words! Our test for long i is on Friday;-)

Love you all!
Mrs. D
