Thanks to all the parents that came to Stand and Clap this morning. I know it isn't easy to take off of work, we really appreciate your support. For my AM class we did miss whole group reading and writing due to the ceremony but we will get caught up tomorrow. Tonight some reading groups have a stop sticky note in their books. I want them to stop reading there. Their books are longer this week and I don't want them to have to read more than their 20 minutes. Please continue to study spelling words since we will have a test this Friday! Great job on DOL quizzes too! We are seeing a lot more O's than before Spring Break. Have a great rest of your day!

9:20 – 9:30 – Mrs. Del Balzo will go over our agenda and the word of the month. We will read a letter from Mrs. Del Balzo and fix mistakes!
9:30 – 10:15 – Guided Reading
All groups will complete a fill in the blank sheet for word wall words.
Group 1 – We will review where Korea is and color a Korean flag. We will read to the end of our book. We will review our word wall words by playing WORDO.
Group 2 – We will investigate the word prism by completing a vocabulary web. We will reread our books. We will review our word wall words by playing WORDO
Group 3 – We will complete a vocabulary web on the word brave. We will reread our book. We will review our word wall words by playing WORDO
10:15 – 11:10 – Whole Group Reading and Writing
We will play the alphabet game and create alliteration sentences using it’s structure. A my name is…. Students will write their alliteration poem using their names and share with the class. We will be posting these in the hallway! We will also review our snake poem from yesterday and finalize our discussion on alliteration before we move on to personification.
11:10 – 12:50 – Art / Lunch / Recess
12:50 – 1:10 – We will copy our homework for the evening and go over our language sentences from the morning.
PM Class 1:10 – 3:10
1:10 – 1:30 – We will go over language sentences and write down our homework for the week.
1:30 – 2:15 Guided Reading
Group 1 1:35 – 1:50– We will complete a vocabulary web on the word ancestors. We will reread our books and complete a handwriting worksheet on word wall words.
Group 2 –1:15 – 2:05 - We will complete a vocabulary web on the word disaster. We will reread our books and complete a handwriting worksheet on word wall words.
Group 3 – 2:05 – 2:20 - We will complete a vocabulary web on the word astonishing. We will reread our books and complete a handwriting worksheet on word wall words.
2:20 – 3:15 – Whole Group Reading and Writing
We will review what alliteration is and begin our discussion on personification. This is when an author takes and inanimate object like a spoon and makes it do human things like stand up or dance! We will read a poem called “Ladybug, Ladybug” to model this skill. Students will try to write their own poems using personification!
