9:20 – 9:30 – Mrs. Del Balzo will go over our agenda and the word of the month. We will read a letter from Mrs. Del Balzo and fix mistakes!
9:30 – 10:15 – Guided Reading
Group 1 – We will review our new word wall words and take a picture walk of our new text! We will look at how to put an apostrophe when we are showing ownership.
Group 2 – We will review our new word wall words and take a picture walk of our new book. We will look on a map to see where Malaysia is. We will talk about places we have been with our family.
Group 3 – We will practice our new word wall words and take a picture walk of our new book. We will discuss what kind of toys we like to play with.
10:15 – 10:40 – Whole Group Reading
We will discuss synonyms and how they are words that mean the same thing.
10:40 – 11:10- Language/Writing
We will go over our morning work and organize or writing folders from quarter three and finish up any final publishing. We will discuss our new writing piece about a taste test on what type of popcorn we like better regular or kettlecorn.
11:10- 12:50 – Art/Lunch/ Recess
12:50 – 1:10- Students will finish any assignments from the morning and book box read until math time.
PM Class 1:10 – 3:10
1:10 – 1:30 – Students will come in and go over their language packets and write down their homework in their planners. We will review our DOL quiz and spelling tests.
1:30 – 2:15 –Guided Reading – Each group is a 15 minute rotation.
All students will review new word wall words!
Rotations: While students are not meeting with Mrs. Del Balzo they are completing language activities or reading/writing independently.
Group 1 1:30 – 1:45– We will take a picture walk of our new text. We will review the elements of a folktale and begin reading independently. At the end of our time we will review the BCR question for the week.
Group 2 –1:45 – 2:00 - We will take a picture walk of our new text and review the elements of a tall tale. We will read and then review the BCR question for the week.
Group 3 – 2:00 – 2:15 - We will will take a picture walk of our new text. We will review the elements of a folktale and begin reading independently. At the end of our time we will review the BCR question for the week.
2:15 – 2:40 – Whole Group Reading
We will review synonyms and antonyms during whole group reading. We will focus on analogies and how can use our knowledge of synonyms and antonyms to find the correct answer.
2:40 – 3:15 – Writing
We will meet in small groups to organize our writing folders and put any finishing touches on our work from quarter three. We will begin a new writing assignment on a taste test of which popcorn we like better regular or kettle corn.
